HEALTHY CHILD COALITION
The Coalition is excited to offer two summer programs this year in July. Twigs & Tumbles on Tuesdays and Let's Explore Summer on Wednesdays. To register, click the links below.
Please note: Registration opens at 9 am on June 16th. The links will not work until that time.
The Coalition is committed to the health and well-being of our community. We recognize that wildfire smoke and poor air quality can pose serious health risks, and these conditions may affect our ability to run outdoor programs safely. Please review our air quality policy below for details on how we make decisions regarding outdoor activities during wildfire events.
The Fort Garry/St. Norbert Healthy Child Coalition is one of 18 Provincial Coalitions to receive funding from the Manitoba government. The members of our Coalition are people from the community who are interested in the welfare of our children. Every program funded by the Coalition supports parents in one or more of the following areas: parenting, nutrition and physical health, literacy, and capacity building. These programs are free and geared towards parents/caregivers and children (aged 1-4 years) to attend together.
Parenting
Talk to other parents about the joys and challenges of parenting. Ask the Program Leaders for ideas about services and resources in your community to support you in being the best parent possible.
Nutrition & Physical Health
Receive a healthy snack at the end of the program and have your child practice their fine and gross motor skills
Literacy & Numeracy
Take part in the rhyme circle, share a book with your child, participate in craft time, or simply spend some fun time with your little one. These are all activities you can enjoy at one of the funded programs.
Community Capacity
Learn about various resource opportunities available in the community, ways you can become involved in your community, and share your knowledge and experiences with others.
